Grip Your Golf Club Correctly.... by Fadzlina Rahman ✔✔✔
The Grip in our only connection to our golf club.
Here are the tips...
❥ Place our hands properly on the golf club will help us to get better control of the clubface at the impact
❥ During the swing our body will turns to create power. Since the body is rotating, the golf club must rotate at the same rate : the body and the club must turn together as a team
❥ Grip will help us to create power and feel at the same time. Wrist action is a power source and gripping the club too much in the palm of our hand reduces wrist action.
❥ Placing the club more in the fingers rather than in the palm! It will increase the amount of wrist hinge => Results : longer Tee shots and more feel.
❥ Most Common Error :
Golfer is weak lead-hand (left hand for right handed golfer) grip too much in the palm. This produces a shot that slices & less power.
STEP ONE:
** The power grip allows us to release the club head, improving our golf shot accuracy **
STEP TWO:
Hold the club about 3 feet in the air, in front of our body.
With the clubface square, place the club at an angle through the fingers, following the line of the dots pictured in STEP 1.
The club should touch the base of the little finger and the resy just above the first join of the index finger (along the line of the dots).
STEP THREE:
With the clubface square, place the club at an angle through the fingers, following the line of the dots pictured in STEP 1.
The club should touch the base of the little finger and the resy just above the first join of the index finger (along the line of the dots).
STEP THREE:
With the club at an angle and in the fingers, place our left thumb (for right handed players) toward the back side of the shaft.
STEP FOUR:
In the address position, looking down at our grip, we should be able to see the knuckles of the index and middle finger of our lead (top) hand.
We should also see a "V" that is created by the thumb and forefinger of the lead hand, and the "V" should be pointing back toward our right (for right handed players) shoulder (the 1 o'clock position).
